Samenvatting

Very little is studied and understood about the Commercial Sex Workers (CSWs) in Guwahati, Assam with respect to their living and working conditions, initiation into sex work and their opinion on exiting and reintegration into mainstream society as well as alternate livelihood aspirations. The objective of this research study was to gain insight into the CSWs of Guwahati Assam, India, to be able to identify the barriers and enabling conditions to exit and reintegration of CSWs of Guwahati and to come up with alternative livelihood intervention strategies based on the same.
