Samenvatting

Contemporary European forests are devastated by severe forest fires. The probability of forest fires is only grow ing due to climate change. Forest managers are therefore transforming the forests into species rich forests resilient to the impacts of climate change. These forests are also referred to as climate smart forests. I t will take at least another century before a fully fledged climate smart forest is established.
