Research report June – September 2025Samenvatting
The Caribbean Netherlands rely heavily on costly imports of fresh produce, contributing to unhealthy diets and rising rates of obesity. Local food production remains limited due to insufficient water-smart, nature-inclusive agricultural practices and low climate resilience. The research project Food Resilient Futures in the Caribbean Netherlands was established to help address these challenges using a Living Lab approach, bringing together the local community, government, and researchers to co-develop pathways toward a more prosperous and food-secure future.
