Samenvatting

"The global shift toward electric vehicles (EV) and renewable energy highlights the need for educational models that are both scientifically rigorous and accessible to diverse learners. Research in STEM education demonstrates that hands-on, project-based learning increases student engagement, understanding, and retention of complex topics,
yet many programs are costly or difficult to replicate. This paper presents a scalable EV education program that has engaged more than 200 students, teachers, and community members through a structured sequence of activities: from simple demonstrations of energy and motion to building and riding functional electric go-karts. The program is modular, making it adaptable for single-day workshops or semester-long courses, and can be implemented in a variety of classroom or outreach settings. Strongly positive feedback from participant evaluations and surveys confirms its popularity and effectiveness across various age groups and academic levels. In addition to summarizing the activities, this paper provides guidance for educators seeking to adopt similar approaches to teaching sustainability and clean transportation."
