Consumer behaviour towards food additives
a comparison between the Netherlands and CanadaConsumer behaviour towards food additives
a comparison between the Netherlands and CanadaSamenvatting
This study investigates consumer attitudes and responses to food additives in the Netherlands and Canada, focusing on familiarity, perceived health impact, preferences for natural versus synthetic additives, and labelling expectations. The aim is to provide practical insights for policymakers, food producers, and public health stakeholders to support more informed food choices. A quantitative online survey was distributed in Dutch, English, and French. Out of the targeted 200 participants, 115 valid responses were collected - 71 from the Netherlands and 44 from Canada. While the sample imbalance limits generalizability, the findings offer meaningful cross-country comparisons.
