Advancing healthy indoor air through societal engagement and market transformationSamenvatting
The Global Commission on Healthy Indoor Air is a transdisciplinary alliance of more than 200 leaders and experts from more than 40 countries across every region of the world. Launched at the United Nations during Climate Week on September 23, 2025, the Commission brings together leaders spanning public health, medicine, academia, civil society, building science, real estate and industry to address one of the most consequential and under-recognized public health challenges of our time: the air people breathe indoors. Its shared mission is to make healthy indoor air the norm—not the exception—in all buildings, everywhere. Drawing on the Commissioners’ collective expertise, influence and commitment, the Commission has developed the Global Framework for Action to articulate a shared global vision, define core principles and identify the interconnected levers of market transformation and recommendations needed to turn evidence into lasting change. The Framework anchors the Commission’s broader multi-year effort to inform decision-makers, shape policy, accelerate innovation, unlock investment, strengthen professional practice and build public awareness, mobilizing coordinated action to make healthy indoor air a reality for everyone.
