Samenvatting

The Ogiek community, an indigenous group residing in Mt. Elgon, Kenya, faces significant challenges in securing sustainable livelihoods due to environmental vulnerabilities, historical marginalization, and limited access to economic opportunities. This study sought to identify, assess, and recommend livelihood opportunities that can contribute to the economic transformation of the Ogiek community in Mt. Elgon, Kenya. The specific study objectives were, to explore potential livelihood opportunities that can lead to economic transformation and to assess the impact of livelihood opportunities on the socio-economic status of the Ogiek.
