Samenvatting

The thesis investigates the effects of rising water consumption costs on small-scale farmers in Mathioya District, Murang’a County, Kenya. It aims to identify the challenges these farmers face due to the increased cost of water for consumption exacerbated by climate change and offers strategies for equitable water distribution. The research is motivated by addressing socio-economic and environmental factors influencing water access, including erratic precipitation patterns, deforestation, and government policies.
